Belarusian Language:
The Belarusian language (byelaruskaya mova or belaruskaja mova) is the language of the Belarusian people. Prior to Belarus gaining its independence from the Soviet Union in 1992, the language was known in English as Byelorussian or Belorussian (transliterating the Russian name) or alternatively as White Russian or White Ruthenian. Following independence, it was also called Belarusan.
